Since early November 2007 all of Yarra Valley Water's high users (42) and all of South East Water's larger consumers (54) have been using HydroShare for web-based consumption monitoring.

This was part of a Department of Sustainability & Environment (DSE) initiative to monitor the water consumption for the TOP200 water consumers in Melbourne. The water retailers and their customers are able to identify any excessive flow and potential leakage.

HydroShare assists with efforts to lower overall consumption, saving precious water and money.
Considerable losses have already been found and fixed at a number of sites. We have found that installation costs are usually recovered within the 1st year due to savings on the water bill.

Additionally, the system is currently being installed at over 100 Melbourne Water sites to monitor water consumption in various catchment areas.

South East Water has recently selected a further 20 schools to be connected to HydroShare as well as incorporating HydroShare as part of the curriculum, helping students to gain 1st hand knowledge about water management.

HydroShare is also being utilised in commercial and industrial sites in conjunction with sub-metering to provide a detailed understanding of exactly where water is consumed.

Smart Monitoring HydroShare wins Victorian Engineering Excellence Award 2007

Pressure Sewer Systems

Construction of the reticulation system in Flinders has been compeleted.
Grinder pump tanks are being installed at housing lots to replace septic tanks.
All pumps are connected via telemetry to assist with operation & maintenance.
Each tank has a 900l capacity and is fully in-ground.
The community and our environment will benefit from a better way to manage waste water collection and distribution.
